 IMPACTING COMMUNITY

Ebenezer partners with Brooke's House, a drug rehabilitation facility for women located in Hagerstown, Maryland. This in-house community-based facility is designed to support women in their early stages of substance abuse recovery. Brooke's House was founded by Kevin and Dana Simmers. They have incorporated a chocolate-making shop and a thrift store to promote a sense of community, support a good work ethic, and raise additional funds for those recovering from addiction.

  OUTREACH MISSIONS

The “Hester E. Hardy” Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) embraces the opportunity to meet the community's physical needs by providing essentials such as food, clothing, and shelter, all within budget constraints. Complementing this, our “Love Ministry” uplifts emotional well-being through heartfelt gestures, including cards, floral arrangements, and thoughtful visits. Together, we strive to create a warm and supportive environment!

Ebenezer partners with Andrea's House, a faith-based residential program in Frederick, Maryland.  It offers transitional living and housing for women and their children.  The program, founded by Carleah Summers, is designed to empower women recovering from substance use disorders.  It strives to encourage women and their children with strength, power, inspiration, and knowledge from Jesus Christ.  Andrea's House is the go-to place for peer recovery and mental health support.  This establishment offers recovery programs, counseling, and workshops tailored to its clients, along with assistance to help them develop self-advocacy and take ownership of their lives.

Ebenezer partners with the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund, a not-for-profit fund with a 501 (c)(3) tax status.  Patty Hurwitz, a breast cancer survivor, established this fund to help those in our local community affected by breast cancer.  The Hurwitz Fund provides innovative early detection and treatment options at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, Maryland.  The Fund has funded the Medical and Oncology Suite at the James M. Stockman Cancer Center, located in Frederick, and has helped create a healing space for patients and their families at the Center for Breast Care. Administrative sponsors help underwrite operational costs, so all donations go to direct patient care.

Ebenezer became SHIPmates by partnering with the Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership (SHIP). SHIP provides vital resources and urgent services to the hundreds of Frederick County youth experiencing homelessness each year. This initiative helps students reduce housing insecurity and homelessness and increases their impact by addressing systemic barriers faced by youth in Frederick County, Maryland. These children often live in transitional situations. Therefore, SHIP works in collaboration with Frederick County Public Schools, human relief agencies, government, and other organizations to create positive outcomes for homeless youth in the Frederick County community, regularly providing essential items that support students’ well-being and stability.
